My wife and I have been doing this for a few years. We made the mistake in the beginning to use a site that didn’t have a membership fee. We had a few exchanges fall through and a few that were not as the owner portrayed. We then switched to homeexchange.com where this a nightly fee or yearly fee depending on how often you use the site. We found when people have to pay this fee, they are more reliable and the houses are nicer.
