This Policy is part of our Terms of Service, which govern your use of the Site. We may update our Terms of Service and/or this Policy from time to time. Whenever we do so, we will include the applicable effective date at the top of the page.  Whenever you use the Site or provide us with information, you are indicating that you agree to the most recent version of our Terms of Service, including this Policy, and you are consenting to our collection and use of that information as described in this Policy, so please check our Terms of Service and this Policy regularly for updates.

We use this information to deliver the features of the Site that you request, such as to review and respond to your inquiries, provide customer support, post your User Content, and process your purchases. We also use this information to evaluate and improve the Site (including our marketing of the Site and our delivery of advertisements on the Site), customize your user experience, personalize our communications to you, and for other reasons that you request or that we make known to you at the time you choose to provide the information.

A browser cookie is a small file that is stored on your device when you visit a website. It allows the website to recognize your browser or recall your settings as you navigate around the website or visit the website again in the future. “Persistent” cookies stay on your device until you delete them and are useful for, among other reasons, to avoid having to login or re-enter your preferences next time you visit the website. “Session” cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser or turn off your device and are useful for capturing analytical data and helping you navigate around the website. You can block cookies or delete them by following the instructions for our browser, but not all of the features of the Site may work as intended if you block our cookies.

Analytics services are provided by third parties to measure various uses of a webpage, including general geographic location, browsing actions, and similar information for compiling and analyzing statistical data. These third parties may also use automatic technologies like browser cookies and Web beacons.

The information we and our third-party service providers may automatically collect includes:

  • IP address and general location (such as region or city);

We use automatically-collected information to make the Site available to you (such as by recognizing you when you visit the Site and recalling your settings and preferences) and to evaluate and improve the Site, customize your user experience, and perform market research. We may use this information to present selected content and advertisements to you, or to invite you to participate in discussion forums, surveys, contests, promotions or other interactive features of the Site that we believe may be of interest to you based on your interests and activities on the Site.

Information We Gather From Third Parties

We may collect Personal Information about you from other sources. These sources may be service providers working on our behalf, such as to help us operate, maintain, and improve the Site or specific features of the Site. Our sharing of any Personal Information with service providers and other partners is discussed separately below. Other sources of Personal Information may include data aggregators, publicly available sources, and operators of other websites or online services (such as social media services) that may allow you to link to your account or profile on the Site. We generally use information gathered from third parties to identify potential users of the Site so that we can invite them to visit the Site. If we offer a referral feature on the Site, a user may provide us with another individual’s contact information, which we will use only to inform the individual of the referral and invite the individual to visit the Site.

Information We Share

We will share your Personal Information with non-affiliated third parties only as described in this Policy, unless we obtain your specific consent otherwise.

We may share your Personal Information with service providers with whom we have contracted to provide products or services that help us operate, maintain, and improve the Site. These may include payment processors, email or other communications service providers, and providers of platforms for customer support, surveys, content delivery, database management, hosting, cyber security, and interactive features of the Site. Service providers must treat your Personal Information as confidential and use it only to provide the services for which we have engaged them. Companies that help us with analytics and advertising are discussed separately below.

We may also share information you have chosen to provide, for the purpose for which you provided it. For example, if you submit User Content, such as a comment in a discussion group or a post on a bulletin board, your User Content will be visible to other users of the Site. Similarly, if you enter a contest, respond to a survey, or purchase a third-party product or service through the Site, the information you provide, which may include Personal Information, will be shared accordingly.

Some third parties may collect your Personal Information directly in the course of your interactions with them. When that is the case, your Personal Information will be subject to the privacy policies and other applicable terms of those third parties. But if they share your Personal Information with us, we will treat it in accordance with this Policy.

We may use your Personal Information to help protect against fraudulent or unauthorized activities, improve security, comply with applicable law or legal obligations, cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental authorities, investigate complaints, defend against legal claims, protect the rights and safety of our organization and our employees and users, or enforce this Policy and our Terms of Service.

If we are acquired by or merge with another company or go through a similar major corporate event involving a detailed review of our business and operations by third parties, we may disclose your Personal Information as part of such a review.  Any such review will be subject to a confidentiality agreement that will restrict the use of your Personal Information.

Please note, however, that our request will not apply to information we may have shared with such third parties prior to receiving your request, and that if you have provided Personal Information directly to a third party whose products or services are featured or linked in the Site, that third party may continue to use your Personal Information; you may wish to contact that third party directly to make your request.

We do not track our users over time and across third-party websites, and therefore we do not recognize or respond to browser-initiated “Do Not Track” signals. As noted above, we participate in online advertising networks administered by third parties, which may track your online activities over time and across third-party websites. You may opt-out of interest-based and other targeted advertising as indicated above in the Managing Targeted Advertising section

We will make reasonable efforts to comply with such requests where applicable, but we may refuse such requests where we are otherwise legally required to retain the information, or where the requests are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate technical effort, create privacy risks for others, or are impractical.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to request and obtain from us once per year, free of charge, a list of third parties to whom we have disclosed your Personal Information (if any) for their direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year, as well of the types of Personal Information disclosed to those parties.
