Call for Submissions

Did you have something in your life that was destined to become a death-bed regret (D.B.R.) that you took steps to prevent? An unexplored passion? A bad relationship? A never-taken trip? What did you do to change the outcome? And did that change affect the rest of your life? We’re asking for 500 to 1,000 word essays that can be an inspiration to other Bucket readers on how to change their D.B.R. destiny.

Thank you for your interest in contributing to The D.B.R. Diaries. And, most importantly, congratulations for taking steps to eliminate a death-bed regret from your life. Below are some guidelines to consider when creating your piece. We look forward to reading your story. If you still have questions, please reach out to us at info@thebucket.com.

Criteria

Did you have something in your life that was destined to become a death-bed regret (DBR) that you took steps to prevent? An unexplored passion? A bad relationship? A never-taken trip? What did you do to change the outcome? And did that change affect the rest of your life? We’re  looking for roughly 500 to 1,000 word essays that can be an inspiration to other Bucket readers on how to change their DBR destiny.

Compensation

If your essay is chosen to run, you will receive two free one-year subscriptions to The Bucket. One for you, and one for someone in your life you think might have a potential DBR they might want to get rid of.

Exclusivity

The Bucket creates original content. We do not allow any article that appears on The Bucket website to be published anywhere else without permission from, and attribution to, The Bucket.  

Submitting

Please submit your essay to TheDBRDiaries@thebucket.com. We prefer MS Word documents but we also accept Pages and PDFs. You can even just cut and paste your essay into your email.

If your essay is chosen to become part of The D.B.R. Diaries, we will reach out with details. We also encourage you to include (high resolution) photos that complement your story including a picture of yourself which we may use when publishing. Please do not include any photos that you, or any of the people depicted in the photos, would not want to be published.
